No comparisons – Wike on his 2 years as FCT Minister, Peter Obi’s tenure in Anambra
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has declared that his two years as minister cannot be compared to former Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi’s eight years as governor of Anambra State.
Wike spoke during the commissioning of the newly Constructed Roads ILS 11 (Esther Bali Street) and MAR 24 (Kez Udezue Street) in Mabushi District, Abuja while reacting to reports of Obi donating N2 million to Tunga Nasara LEA primary School in Abuja.
The minister said Obi’s inability to manage the Labour Party’s crisis is an eye opener to the fact that he cannot manage Nigeria.
He said: “I challenge him to come out publicly and compare what he did for 8 years in Anambra with what we have done in the FCT in just two years.
“Someone who cannot manage a political party as a presidential candidate is talking about managing a complex country like Nigeria.
“Two years and you are talking about eight years, everything must not be propaganda, as I’m the Minister of FCT, I can’t claim to know everywhere in Abuja, it’s not possible.
“If you are a responsible and good citizen, it’s not just to go to social media to think that they will love you, you will continue to contest as president of social media and not as president of Nigeria.
“You run as president under a party and you can’t manage the party, to hold the party together you can’t, it’s Nigeria of over 200 people that you want to manage, you will know a good answer from the first step. A party of how many people, there is crisis, you can’t hold them.”
