The North-Central All Progressives Congress, APC, Forum has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by the Forum’s Chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, who also lauded the National Council of State for endorsing the appointment.
Zazzaga expressed confidence that Professor Amupitan would conduct credible, free, and fair elections across the country during his tenure.
He described the appointment as a recognition of the North-Central region’s pool of capable and qualified professionals, noting that Amupitan’s experience and integrity make him fit for the position.
“Professor Amupitan’s track record as a legal scholar, practitioner, and university administrator shows his capacity to deliver on the mandate of INEC,” Zazzaga stated.
The Forum urged Nigerians, especially political stakeholders, to support the new INEC chairman in ensuring transparency and strengthening the nation’s electoral process.
