NPFL imposes N1m fine on clubs for ball boys’ time-wasting

The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has imposed a fine of N1 million on clubs that fail to reorient their ball boys against time-wasting during matches.

The Chief Operating Officer of the NPFL, Davidson Owumi, stated this in a circular addressed to all clubs.

Part of the statement reads: “‘Any team that found wanting and encouraging this will be sanctioned with a fine of One Million naira as such behaviour is contrary to fair play and brings the game to disrepute.”

Owumi noted that the act would be regarded as misconduct, punishable under the NPFL framework and rules.

He reiterated that the league body remains committed to maintaining the integrity of the NPFL at all times.
