PDP Guber candidate vows to support Soludo, calls for unity in Anambra

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2025 Anambra governorship election, Jude Ezenwafor, says he is willing to work with Governor Chukwuma Soludo to ensure the state’s progress and stability.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, Ezenwafor described Soludo as a long-time friend and ally.

“I can assist him. I have been assisting him before; he is my friend. I brought him to work in Anambra,” he said, adding that his relationship with the governor goes back several years.

Ezenwafor said he was among those who encouraged Soludo to join the race for governorship when he served as Senior Special Assistant to former Governor Willie Obiano.

“I convinced Soludo to contest the election in the first instance when I was Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano. He came, he did well, and there is no perfect person,” he noted.

He also praised Soludo’s handling of security issues in the state and urged him to provide better tools for security agencies to perform effectively.

“Soludo and his security team are working. We have competent security chiefs in Anambra. What they need is better equipment, and insecurity will end. I believe he will do more,” he said.

Ezenwafor confirmed that he had already congratulated Soludo on his victory but said he would not hesitate to hold him accountable if things go wrong.

“I have called to congratulate him, but if he doesn’t do well, I will speak,” he said.

He also encouraged the governor to lead an inclusive administration where everyone’s voice is heard.
