Police arrest 105 suspects, seize over 5,000 illicit drugs in massive Jigawa raids

In a major offensive against drug trafficking, the Jigawa State Police Command has arrested no fewer than 105 suspects during simultaneous raids across the state.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Shi’isu Adam, confirmed the development on Tuesday at the police headquarters in Dutse, the state capital.

Adam said the coordinated raids targeted drug hotspots statewide, adding that officers “left no stone unturned” in the effort to stamp out illicit drug activities.

According to him, the operation led to the recovery of more than 5,000 illegal substances, including cannabis and other hard drugs.

Among the seized items were 2,541 units of Exol, 1,146 units of D-5, 270 packets of Tramadol, and over a thousand wraps of cannabis, including one full block.

Other confiscated substances included 269 units of Diaxer, 153 Pregabalin capsules, and 82 units of Farin Malam, along with various others such as Diazepam, Vegakris, and Calidon’s.

Police also recovered ₦92,460 in cash and additional intoxicants such as rubber solution, “suck and die,” and dry gin from the suspects.

“This bust sends a strong message to those engaged in the illegal drug trade,” SP Adam said, urging residents to support law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities.

“Our fight against narcotics is ongoing, and we need everyone on board,” he added.
