Police Give Update On Investigation Into De@th Of Arise TV Presenter
The Nigeria Police have provided an update on the investigation into the tragic de@th of Somtochukwu Christella Maduagwu, a presenter with Arise Television.
Armed robbers had on September 29, invaded Somtochukwu’s residence at Unique Apartments, Katampe Extension, Mabushi, Abuja.
The attack led to the de@th of the journalist and one Mr Barnabas Danlami, a security guard attached to the premises.
Through diligent efforts and extensive digital intelligence analysis, the operatives of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command were able to arrest twelve suspects linked to the robbery.
In an update on Saturday, the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin said investigations revealed that the fatal shot which claimed the life of the security guard was fired by one of the suspects identified as Shamsudeen Hassan.
According to the Force PRO, the suspect confessed that he shot the guard when the latter attempted to prevent them from gaining access to the apartment.
It was also revealed that the firearms used by the suspects were sourced from a yet-to-be-identified supplier in the Niger Republic.
The suspects, according to the Force PRO, confessed to having taken part in other armed robbery operations within Katampe I, Apo, Zuba, and other parts of the nation’s capital.
The police vowed that the suspects will all be prosecuted according to the law.
