Police restore order after students, host community clash in Kano

Police in Kano State has restored calm following a clash between students of the Federal college of education (Technical), Bichi, and members of the host community on Friday night.

The incident, which occurred around 9:30 p.m. near the institution’s main gate, was revealed by security expert Zagazola Makama in a post on X.

According to Makama, five students identified as Buba Snu, Prince Snu, Kamal Snu, and two others now at large were involved in the clash that broke out near the More Event Centre, located opposite the college.

According to Makama, the disturbance began when some students and community members engaged in a confrontation during an event at the venue, leading to chaos that spilled over to the school’s main entrance.

Sources that spoke to Makama revealed residents pursued the students back into the college premises before police officers from the Bichi Division arrived and swiftly restored order.

Police sources confirmed that no life was lost and no injuries were recorded, though two vehicles belonging to the institution were damaged in the process.
