Six newly graduated police constables injured in Kano road crash
Six newly passed-out police constables were injured in a motor accident on Tuesday at Rijiyar Gwangwan village in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State.
Sources at the hospital told DAILY POST that the crash occurred around 3:00 p.m. and involved a green Sharon bus with registration number AA 229 DKA, driven by Shehu Bilya of Sabon Gari, Wudil, and a DAF trailer, whose driver fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Sources said the bus, which was heading from Kano town to Wudil, collided with the trailer from behind while attempting a U-turn.
The injured officers were identified as PC Abba Nasiru, PC Kamisu Saidu, PC Mohammed, PC Ahmed Rabiu, PC Ahmed Adamu, and W/PC Rafiatu Alkasi (F/No. 075421).
They were rushed to the General Hospital, Wudil, where they are currently receiving treatment and reported to be responding well.
Police operatives have since visited the crash site, prepared a sketch of the scene, and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the fleeing trailer driver.
