Sweat Was Running Down From My Armpits – Kalu Ikeagwu Shares Story of Awkward Kissing Scene With Ini Edo

 

Veteran Nollywood actor Kalu Ikeagwu has spoken about his kissing scene with actress Ini Edo.

 

According to him, he was extremely uncomfortable while watching one of his films with his mother.

 

The 53-year-old actor in an interview with The Nation said the incident happened after his mother requested to see one of his movies, following a visit where she noticed fans asking him for photos and autographs.

 

Wanting to please her, he selected what he thought was his safest film to show during his next visit home.

 

However, things became tense when a romantic scene with Ini Edo appeared unexpectedly.

 

According to Kalu, he had completely forgotten about the kissing scene, and the moment left him sweating nervously in front of his family.

 

He said he tried to act normal, but the awkwardness was overwhelming as the scene played out on screen.

 

The actor revealed that the experience made him more careful about the kind of films he chooses to appear in, especially those his family might watch.

 

He said: “Before anything else, I read the script. From what I learned in school, whatever movie you do is supposed to inform, educate, and entertain at the same time.

“I didn’t really take it that seriously until one day, I think, when my mom came to visit me. When I was seeing her off at the airport, she saw some people who were like: ‘Ah, can I take a picture? Can I sign an autograph?’

“I never really told them what I was doing. So she was like: ‘Ah, this acting you went to do, it’s as if something is coming out of it. When next you’re coming to visit, bring one of your movies so we can watch.”

When I went to visit next, my brothers were there and everything. During the movie, it got to a point where I had a scene with Ini Edo, and we had to kiss. I completely forgot that scene was there because I had looked for the safest movie I could find.

“As the scene was about to start, I was like: ‘Oh, this scene is coming!’ Sweat was running down from my armpits, and I just started retreating.”
