Take Trump seriously, prosecute known sponsors of terrorism in Nigeria – Senior Lawyer to FG

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Kunle Edun, on Thursday urged the federal government to stop accommodating criminals and begin the arrest and prosecution of known sponsors of terrorism in Nigeria.

He also raised the need to take the warning of the United State President, Donald Trump serious and fight against terrorism and banditry.

Edun handed down the charge during a chat with our correspondent in Warri, saying, “No serious government should act ok when its people are being killed like chickens.”

He said, “I want to believe that the recent change in the leadership of the military High Command will send the needed message that the Federal government is taking the issue serious.”

He opined that,”Both the U.S and Nigeria have more to gain if they cooperate in dealing with the issue of security.”

Edun asked, “Can we start by arresting the known sponsors of terrorism and prosecute them? Can we say never again that communities in Plateau State, Benue States and communities in the middle belt region majorly occupied by Christians will not be massacred, their people killed in hundreds and chased from their communities by bandits?

”Can the Federal Government please stop the senseless killings in communities in the North-West, where we understand that some local Governments have been completely taken over by bandits”?
