Ten Hag in talks to return to former club
Ex-Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is in talks over a return to Ajax, according to AD.
Ten Hag has been out of a job since Bayer Leverkusen sacked him earlier in the season.
Although he was linked with a return to the Premier League with Wolves, the Dutchman could instead be heading back to familiar territory.
The Wolves job did not appeal to Ten Hag, with the Molineux side sitting rock bottom of the table after 10 fixtures.
Ten Hag has already held discussions with Ajax chiefs over the possibility of replacing John Heitinga, who was sacked on Thursday.
Ajax currently occupy fourth position in the Eredivisie and were thrashed 3-0 at home by Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday night — a defeat that proved to be the final straw for Heitinga.
Ten Hag, 55, won 73 per cent of his matches between January 2018 and May 2022, claiming three Eredivisie titles and two domestic cups, while also leading Ajax to the Champions League semi-finals.
