‘Tinubu inherited this problem’ – Adeboye on Trump’s threat

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has reacted to the deteriorating security crisis that triggered the designation of Nigeria as Country of Particular Concerns by the US President Donald Trump.

Trump recently designated Nigeria as CPC following disputed claims of the Christian massacre in Nigeria.

He also vowed that the US military would take out the criminal elements if the Nigerian government fails to do the needful.

While Trump’s move generated outrage across the country, most Christian religious leaders have been quiet on the matter.

However, speaking on Friday night at the November Holy Ghost Service Adeboye said there was no need to blame the current administration, stating that President Bola Tinubu inherited the situation.

“This is not the time for apportioning blame. Our President inherited this problem — it started before him,” he said.

The clergyman, however, urged the Federal Government to immediately eliminate the terrorists and their sponsors ahead of the proposed possible US military action in Nigeria.

According to Adeboye if the US eventually invades Nigeria as Trump said, China, Russia, and other world powers would not come to the country’s defence.

“They would only talk,” he warned.

The RCCG Pastor advised President Tinubu to give the newly appointed service chiefs a three-month ultimatum to wipe out criminal elements and their financiers.
