Tinubu swears in Amupitan as INEC chairman, tasks him on election integrity
President Bola Tinubu on Thursday, charged Joash Amupitan, the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to protect the integrity of elections in Nigeria.
The President gave the charge while swearing in the new INEC chairman at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Amupitan’s appointment as INEC chairman followed Senate approval after his screening.
Recall that the President had earlier announced his appointment, after the National Council of State meeting, earlier.
