Tinubu Swears In New INEC Chairman, Amupitan

Joash Amupitan has been sworn-in by President Bola Tinubu as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Amupitan was sworn in at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, dressed in a white agbada and paired with a gold cap.

Amupitan’s emergence followed the expiration of the tenure of former INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu.

During his screening, Amupitan said his target is to have an electoral system where the loser will congratulate the winner after elections.
