Two killed in fatal Edo road crash

Two people have reportedly been killed, while four others sustained injuries in a fatal road accident that occurred at Ovia River on the Iguobazuwa–Benin Road, in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.

The Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Cyril Mathew, who confirmed the incident, said seven people were involved in the accident, while one person escaped unhurt.

Mathew attributed the accident to overspeeding by the tipper driver, who, he said, lost control and rammed into another vehicle.

He added that the injured victims were taken to hospital for treatment, while the corpses of the deceased were deposited in the mortuary.
