UCL: Arsenal among five teams that can win trophy – Carragher

Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has admitted Arsenal are among “four or five teams” that can win the Champions League title this season.

Carragher was analyzing the Gunners’ 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

Viktor Gyokeres scored twice, while Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli also got on the scoresheet.

The result sees Arsenal maintain their perfect start in the competition.

Carragher believes they are one of the favourites to win it.

He said: “My Liverpool team that won the Champions League [in 2005] were not a great team attacking-wise but we were strong defensively.

“That always gives you a chance, especially when you get to the knockout stages and the two-legged ties.

“If you’re strong defensively you’ve always got a chance.

“So, yeah, I see Arsenal as one of the four or five teams that can win this competition.”
