Victims Share Experiences As Lady Raises Alarm About Man Who Disguises As Taxi Driver To Rob Women At Gunpoint In Jos
Some victims have come forward to share their harrowing encounters with a suspected lone robber in Jos, Plateau State, who allegedly poses as a taxi driver to rob women at gunpoint.
The women disclosed this on Friday, October 10, 2025 after one Shiela Shallangwa, raised alarm over the operations of the suspect, warning women to be vigilant.
According to Shiela, the suspect, described as bearded and fair in complexion, operates mostly around the Rayfield area of Jos.
“Please be careful out there. There is a guy that rob women at gunpoint and he disguises himself as a taxi man. According to people who are victims….he is fair in complexion and has beards. He doesn’t stay at the parks….he does road side. One of the victims notices his plate number is Abj… but didn’t hold the number. This will be the 6th person that I know got robbed by this same person with same description. Please be very very careful,” she wrote.
Sharing her experience, one Sampams Dee Dee, said the suspect demanded her passwords at gunpoint and withdrew all the money in her bank account.
“I’m a victim too. This same guy picked me from British and was going to Rayfield. On our way, immediately after the civil defense office, this guy removed a gun & asked me to give him my phone & the login password. Including my bank password. That’s how I gave him & he asked me to drop from the car. Before I will use my card, he removed all the money in my bank,” she said.
Another victim, Linda Musa, said she fell victim to the suspect last Sunday.
“This guy literally robbed me at gun point on Sunday night around Maxi Shawarma, Yingi. Collected my Shawarma and about 20k. Thank God I didn’t go out with my big phone and he was super mad that I had only small phone with me. The only thing I could get on the plate number was KWL 40 I couldn’t get the last number,” she wrote.
