WAFCON 2026Q: Benin coach, Ouzerou confident of upset against Benin Republic

Amazons of Benin Republic head coach, Abdoulaye Ouzerou has said they are not scared of facing the Super Falcons of Nigeria.

Benin Republic will face the defending champions in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations second qualifying round.

The first leg will hold at the Stade de Kegue, Lome on Thursday.

The reverse fixture is slated for the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex, Abeokuta on Tuesday, 28 October.

Ouzerou declared that they will count on their mental strength to scale through the hurdle.

“We’re going to count on their heart, because if you’re physically and technically inferior, you have to compensate mentally. And for me, mentally, they’re ready. We’re going to rely heavily on that mentality,” he after unveiling his squad.
