We Are Still Travelling The Road Of Impunity – Atiku’s Aide Blasts Police Over Attack On #FreeNnamdiKanu Protesters

Paul Ibe, the media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has lashed out at President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian police for attacking #FreeNnamdiKanu protesters.
He spoke after a viral video showed Sowore and other protesters running for cover as police fired gunshots.
Sowore, while speaking to journalists, stated that the protesters were peaceful and orderly, as he had promised, but security agents opened fire on them.
He said, “They didn’t particularly have any leadership; there were about 10 trucks that arrived at the same time as soon as we started the protest, and people were coming around.
“There was no provocation on our part; it was orderly and peaceful; it was an unprovoked attack from the police force and a combined team of security people.”
Reacting to the development via his 𝕏 handle, Ibe argued that the shooting of Nigerians is an indication that no lesson has been learnt from the EndSARS protest.
He said, “Dissent and protest are an integral aspect of democracy. As Americans are engaging in the #NoKingsDayOct18th protest, Nigerians are being shot at and tear-gassed at the @YeleSowore #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest in Abuja.
“Ironically, this is on the 5th anniversary of the #EndSARS #LekkiMassacre. No lessons learnt.
“We’re still travelling the same route of impunity, high-handedness, intolerance of dissent, and massacre of precious human lives.”
