12-year-old girl rescued from rape in tinted vehicle 3-month pregnant – Police
The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police has said a 12-year-old girl rescued while being raped by one Zayyanu Halilu around the Airport Bridge Taxi Park has been confirmed three months pregnant.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh disclosed this in a statement she issued and made available to reporters on Saturday.
She explained that officers of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit had on October 2, while on routine in the area, observed a fully tinted navy blue Volkswagen vehicle with registration number KMC567LQ parked with its Windows wound up.
The PPRO said the officers suspected foul play when they observed that the vehicle was shaking.
She said the officers subsequently approached the vehicle and opened it, “only to see one Zayyanu Halilu raping a twelve year old minor.”
“Following the discovery, the suspect was promptly arrested and the victim was rescued,” the PPRO said.
According to her, “a preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had, on several occasions, lured and sexually abused the under aged victim in the said vehicle parked at the same location, with threats to “deal with her” if she reveals the abuse to anyone.
“Medical examination also revealed that the victim is about three months pregnant as a result of the abuse.
“The victim is currently receiving medical care and assessment, while the suspect remains in Police custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.”
