2027: DSS creating disorder in Sokoto to rig for APC – Atiku cries out

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has raised the alarm that the Department of State Services, DSS, and other security outfits are creating disorder in Sokoto State in a bid to rig the 2027 elections for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Atiku made the allegation on Tuesday during a press conference held at his residence in Abuja.
This followed the attack on the ADC governorship candidate in Sokoto, Manir Dan’iya.
Reacting, Atiku said the DSS and local security outfits loyal to the APC government in Sokoto have been harassing ADC supporters and creating confusion to pave the way for rigging.
Atiku added that ADC supporters are being manhandled simply for wearing the party's branded shirts and caps, even as opposition candidates are allegedly attacked with impunity.
He called on the Federal Government to order an immediate investigation and guarantee that opposition parties can campaign freely in Sokoto and across the country.
“More disturbing still, the information available to us is that the leadership of the Department of State Services is recruiting people to stage protests in Sokoto.
“The objective is to create disorder, give the APC controlled state government a pretext to impose a curfew and prevent our campaign take off from holding as scheduled,” he said.
