2027: Osun APC ready to partner Gov Adeleke for Tinubu's re-election
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has declared its readiness to partner with Governor Ademola Adeleke to secure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
The state APC chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, disclosed this in a press statement issued on Friday following a meeting of the party's State Working Committee.
Lawal said the party had reaffirmed its commitment to President Tinubu's second-term ambition and was already making arrangements to ensure his victory in the forthcoming presidential election.
According to him, "the party leadership has mapped out various activities aimed at achieving the objective, with members and stakeholders across its administrative structures assigned specific responsibilities."
He said the decision to collaborate with Governor Adeleke followed resolutions reached at the State Working Committee meeting held on Wednesday.
The APC chairman said the party appreciated the governor's decision to support President Tinubu's re-election, adding that it was prepared to work with him towards achieving the common objective.
"We appreciate the resolve of Governor Adeleke to work for the re-election of President Tinubu in the forthcoming presidential election," Lawal stated.
However, the party urged Governor Adeleke to demonstrate genuine inclusivity by ensuring that APC leaders and members in Osun were adequately involved in the proposed political collaboration.
It advised the governor to take necessary steps to incorporate all relevant stakeholders, stressing that their participation would be important in achieving the desired electoral outcome.
The party also resolved to intensify its mobilisation efforts for APC candidates contesting National Assembly and Osun State House of Assembly seats in the forthcoming elections.
As part of the resolutions, the state chapter announced plans to establish a campaign council to coordinate activities and drive support for its National Assembly and state assembly candidates.
The meeting resolved that party structures at all levels would be deployed for electioneering activities, while appreciating the efforts of APC leaders in addressing internal disagreements within the party in Osun State.
