2027: Timi Frank urges Trump to impose visa ban, asset freeze on election riggers

Timi Frank, former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged United States President Donald Trump to impose visa bans, asset freezes and other restrictions on officials in President Bola Tinubu’s administration who attempt to rig the 2027 presidential election.

Frank made the call in a notice addressed to President Trump on Tuesday.

He said Trump should intervene diplomatically to ensure that Nigeria’s 2027 general elections are free, fair and credible.

He called on the Trump administration to adopt what he described as a “No Mandate From Fraud” policy, arguing that credible elections were essential to accountable leadership, economic development and national stability.

“The Trump administration must act now to ensure electoral integrity in Nigeria. The time to act is before the elections, not after the damage has been done,” Frank said.

“Any individual who participates in the manipulation, falsification, or rigging of the 2027 election will face immediate, individual consequences,” he added.
