The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a warning students preparing for the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to confirm their subject combination before completing their registration to avoid losing admission.
The directive was shared on Friday, November 6, 2026, through its verified X account, @jamb_hq, as part of its ongoing “JAMB Explained” video series.
The new episode guides candidates on how to identify and check the correct subject requirements for their chosen course.
The board stressed that the subject combination a candidate registers under is a core part of the admission process as rgistering under the wrong subjects can render a candidate ineligible for their preferred course regardless of how well they perform in the examination.
The board advised candidates to consult the official JAMB brochure for course requirements instead of friends, cybercafé operators, whose information may be inaccurate or outdated.
The board also directed candidates to its official website to verify requirements before registration opens.
