The COVID-19 lockdown pushed many young Nigerians online, and for Adedapo Adewale, it marked the start of his content creation journey.
Adewale, from Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State, began making content in 2020 while in secondary school.
Friends, classmates and teachers had previously encouraged him to explore entertainment because of his ability to make people laugh. He eventually started creating videos during the lockdown, although he did not initially see it as a career.
After leaving secondary school two years later, financial challenges prevented him from immediately pursuing higher education. He instead learnt pumping machine repairs and servicing and began working as a pumping machine engineer.
The job also helped him return to content creation. Having initially relied on friends’ phones to shoot his videos, Adewale later used income from the technical work to get his own phone.
His online content began attracting more attention in 2025.
Adewale now runs EMPIRE FLOW, a pumping machine repair and servicing business, while continuing to create content. He is currently seeking admission into a higher institution and remains active online despite periods of low engagement.
Beyond social media, Adewale says he hopes to eventually work in film production, with ambitions of contributing to productions that meet international standards.
