Ballon d’Or 2026: He’s phenomenal – Ex-USA forward, Charlie Davies names player to win award

Former USA forward, Charlie Davies has backed Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
Davies believes the Spain international deserves to win the award, describing him as phenomenal because of his performances for club and country.
The 49-year-old spoke following Barcelona’s Champions League win against Galatasaray.
Speaking about Yamal’s chances of winning the Ballon d’Or, Davies said on CBS Sports Golazo, “Phenomenal. I will tell you right now, what we are seeing from Yamal is Ballon d’Or-worthy.
“He is proving that he is the best player in the world, pound for pound. He has seven goals and five assists.
“It feels like he is now mature and making the right decisions. He is scoring, but he is also creating.”
Yamal, who won LaLiga with Barcelona last season and the 2026 World Cup with Spain, is one of the favourites to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
