Funke Akindele calls for continued national prayers amid hardship

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has urged Nigerians not to lose hope and to keep praying for the country. The actress, while celebrating Nigeria’s 66th Independence Day, stressed that regardless of the hardship and challenges facing the nation, ‘Nigeria is our own’.

Akindele urged Nigerians to keep their hope alive, stating that she believes the nation will be great again.

The filmmaker also told Nigerians not to stop praying, adding that she cannot abandon the country because she earns a living from her.

“Nigeria will be great by God’s grace. Today is Nigeria’s birthday, we have to celebrate despite what’s going on. Nigeria is our own. It’s my country, this is where I earn a living from. We’re going to keep celebrating Nigeria as our country. Nigeria will be great by God’s grace. Let’s keep praying for Naija,” she said.
