Nigerian comedian and actress, Helen Paul has spoken up regarding the challenges she faced during her courtship to her husband, Femi.
The entertainer, while speaking about handling criticisms, explained that her husband was advised by close friends and bosses, against marrying her.
Paul noted that such criticisms made her feel inferior, revealing that her boss once questioned Femi about dating her, suggesting she was not good enough for him
Paul added that the insecurity followed her to her wedding day, where she opened up to Femi about her fears concerning their marriage.
“If we last two years in this marriage, I’ve tried. But if we last forever, then God is the one at work,” she recalled.
She, however, said the experience later taught her not to allow other people’s opinions to determine her worth
