Hunters eliminate two bandits, recover N10m ransom in Kano forest

Two suspected bandits have been killed by hunters, who also recovered N10 million in ransom money in Falgore Forest, Doguwa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The suspects were reportedly ambushed while returning to their hideout, while a third member of the group escaped with injuries.

The incident was disclosed by Bakatsine, a conflict reporter covering northwest Nigeria.

According to the report, the recovered money was allegedly paid to secure the release of Kabiru Aliyu, 45, who was abducted on September 11, 2026, and later released unharmed.

Following the incident, the Kano State Police Command reportedly ordered a search of Falgore Forest and surrounding communities to track down the fleeing suspect and recover the weapons used in the operation.

The development comes amid ongoing security concerns over banditry and kidnapping in parts of northern Nigeria.
