Kano Governor Yusuf condemns bandit attacks in four LGAs

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has condemned recent bandit attacks reported in four local government areas of the state, promising stronger measures to protect residents and their property.

The governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The statement confirmed the affected areas to include Chiromawa in Garun Mallam Local Government Area, Beli in Rogo, Bebeji and communities around Gwarzo.

According to the statement, “Governor Yusuf expressed sympathy with the victims and families affected by the attacks, describing the incidents as deeply disturbing and unacceptable.”

The governor assured residents that his administration would work with security agencies to prevent further attacks and restore confidence in the affected communities.

The statement affirmed that the governor has directed relevant authorities to improve surveillance, intelligence gathering and rapid response operations in the affected areas.

Governor Yusuf urged residents to remain calm and avoid actions that could worsen tensions. He also called on them to cooperate with security personnel and provide credible information that could help security agencies identify and arrest those responsible.

The governor commended security personnel for their efforts and urged them to continue intelligence-led operations to protect communities considered vulnerable to attacks.

He prayed for the souls of those killed, wished the injured a speedy recovery and called for the safe return of anyone who may have been abducted.

Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property and maintaining peace and security across Kano State.
