Nigerian author Queenesther Hogan earns global honour at World Summit Awards
Nigerian youth advocate and digital innovation enthusiast, Queenesther Michael Hogan, has received international recognition following her outstanding service as a Youth Ambassador for the World Summit Awards, WSA.
Hogan, who served as a Youth Ambassador for the organization from November 2023 to May 2026, received a Certificate of Participation and a Letter of Recommendation from the WSA headquarters in Salzburg, Austria.
The recommendation letter, dated September 30, 2026 and signed by Hanna-Mari Ristimäki of the International Center for New Media, ICNM, described Hogan as a committed volunteer who contributed significantly to WSA’s mission.
According to the letter, Hogan “actively participated in our network since November 2023, contributing significantly to WSA’s mission of promoting local best practices, fostering a global exchange of ideas and solutions, and contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.”
The WSA, an international organization that promotes digital innovation to improve society, commended Hogan for her passion and dedication. The letter stated that she “demonstrated great passion, skills, and dedication to promoting digital innovation” and that “her dedication to leveraging innovation and technology for social impact, and supporting and empowering other young innovators, aligns perfectly with the core values of the World Summit Awards.”
Highlighting her exceptional commitment, the organization noted that beyond raising awareness about WSA’s global mission at the local level, Hogan also served as a Jury member for the prestigious global Young Innovators Award, where she performed her role “with professionalism, care, and dedication.”
A major highlight of her tenure was her self-initiated project, “Intechship,” which the letter described as taking her role as Ambassador “to the next level.” The initiative organizes workshops dedicated to preparing young people for the future of work through structured internships. Her engagement, both online and offline, the letter added, helped to develop her knowledge in digital innovation and social impact.
During her tenure as a WSA Youth Ambassador, Hogan also featured as a speaker in the “Successes, Failures, and Lessons of Social Entrepreneurship” open webinar, organised in collaboration with the Internet Society and the World Summit Awards communities. The webinar, held on September 19, 2024 at 11:00 UTC, brought together speakers to share insights on supporting youth entrepreneurs, overcoming challenges and driving social impact. Hogan was featured alongside Poornima Meegammana, Director of Youth Development at Shilpa Sayura Foundation; Paola Celina Corporan, Youth Ambassador Program 2023 and Associate of Experimentation at the Accelerator Lab of the United Nations Development Programme; and Malak Yacout, Founder and Executive Director of The Volunteer Circle. The session was moderated by Claire van Zwieten, with World Summit Awards serving as the co-host.

The certificate, on its part, noted that as a Youth Ambassador, she demonstrated commitment to advancing digital innovation for social impact through learning, collaboration, and community engagement.
It listed her contributions to include developing knowledge of digital innovation best practices and social entrepreneurship, building connections within a diverse global network of young innovators and changemakers, raising awareness of WSA’s mission and the transformative potential of digital technologies, and supporting the growth of “a more inclusive, sustainable, and human-centered digital future.”
In its final assessment, the recommendation letter described Hogan as an asset to the WSA network and an impactful leader with extraordinary passion for creating positive global change.
Hogan’s recognition at the WSA reflects a broader shift, with young Nigerians increasingly leveraging digital innovation to drive social impact and advance global development.
