Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has reflected on his decision to pursue a solo career as a musician after splitting from P-Square.

The artist in an interview with Lun Lifestyle TV, explained that as a solo artist, he is still doing what he was doing at P-Square, claiming that he was the songwriter, producer and singer of the group.

Paul noted that the group’s split wasn’t difficult for him, adding that being a solo artist is less stressful for him.

“Transitioning into a solo artist was less stressful for me. Because it was the same me that was doing everything in the group, with due respect. I am the producer, writer, and singer. So, moving as a group, it is still the same thing. As I said, being a solo artist is less stressful. Inasmuch as I have a team, nobody is going to question me. I have more creative control. It is easy for me,” he said.

P.M.NEWS recalls that P-Square has broken up twice: first in 2017 and then again in 2024 after a 2021 reunion.
