The Police Command in Ogun says it has apprehended five persons over suspected involvement in multiple shop breaking.
The command’s Deputy Police Public Relation Officer, Oluborode Babaseyi said in a statement on Saturday in Abeokuta that the suspects were apprehended at Ado-Odo/Ota Area.
Babaseyi said that the breakthrough followed reliable intelligence from some members of the community on Tuesday.
“Following the report, patrol teams were immediately mobilized to the scene. Five persons were apprehended in the process,” he said.
The police official said that foodstuff and other items were recovered from the suspects.
He said that upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to being involved in string shop breaking in the area.
Babaseyi further said that the command on Friday apprehended two teenagers over suspected involvement in multiple shop burglary.
He said that searches and tracking were ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang.
The police image maker said that the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni was fully committed to ridding the state of criminal activities.
He said that the force would continue to ensure collaborative stakeholder engagements in order to track down criminal networks.
He urged members of the public to always support the police with reliable information to ensure more effective crime policing.
