Queen Temi-T Wins Outstanding International Radio Presenter Award


Veteran Nigerian broadcaster and media professional, Temitope Chikezie, popularly known as Queen Temi-T, “The Jolijoli Queen,” has been honoured with the Outstanding International Radio Presenter of the Year Award at the prestigious GX Awards in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

The recognition marks her first win at the GX Awards after three nominations, adding another milestone to her remarkable 17 years media career.

Queen Temi-T has worked across various aspects of the media industry, including news reporting, red carpet hosting, radio presenting, writing, media consultancy and media management.

Her career has also earned her several nominations. She was nominated for the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards in the Indigenous Newscaster of the Year category in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016, and has again been nominated in 2026 in the Best Indigenous Language Radio Presenter category.
In 2025 and 2026, she received nominations in the Female OAP category at the All Radio Awards, while in 2025, she was nominated for and won the Gospel Presenter of the Year category at the Kingdom Achievers Awards.

“Talent can open the door, but consistency, discipline, character, continuous learning, professionalism, resilience and the ability to reinvent yourself are what keep you in the room,” she says.

Reflecting on her journey, Queen Temi-T says winning awards is never guaranteed, but talent, consistency, discipline, professionalism, resilience and continuous self development can create opportunities and eventually open doors.

She describes the GX Awards win as a testament to the importance of staying committed even when recognition does not come immediately.

“Sometimes, you will be nominated and you won’t win. Sometimes, you will work incredibly hard and somebody else will take the recognition. But you must keep going. Your consistency may be preparing you for the moment when your name will finally be called,” she says.

She expressed appreciation to the GX Awards organisers and judging panel, as well as her family, fans, colleagues, industry friends, bosses, and both past and present management teams for their support throughout her career.

For Queen Temi-T, the latest recognition is not the end of the journey but another motivation to keep evolving, inspiring and making an impact through the media said Social Media Centre Marketing (SMC) because public positioning is not a day’s journey.

“Seventeen years in, I am grateful for how far I have come, and I am even more excited about what lies ahead.”

Seventeen years in, the microphone is still on, the passion is still alive, and the journey continues. And this time, the world has added another trophy to the story. Outstanding International Radio Presenter of the Year GX Awards 2026.

A nomination became three. Three nominations became a win. And one win has become another reason to keep going.
