Tayo Faniran exposes hard truth about surviving in Nollywood

Nollywood actor Tayo Faniran has spoken up regarding being successful in the Nigerian film industry, arguing that it is not achieved by just talent.

The actor, while speaking during a recent appearance on TVC’s entertainment show, eSplash, claimed that the system is heavily influenced by favouritism.

Faniran added that the public perception of Nollywood’s hierarchy does not reflect the industry’s true talent pool

“In Nollywood, the film producers, actors and directors you guys see and know as the biggest are not the most talented. If Nollywood were strictly about talent, I should be far beyond where I am. There is a lot of rigging in the industry,” he stated.
