Teacher nabbed for allegedly defiling 10-year-old girl in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a primary school teacher and resident of Damare in Yola South Local Government Area, Garba Suleiman, 54, for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl.
The arrest was in response to a complaint lodged by the victim’s family at Divisional Police Headquarters, Yola South,” the command explained.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect lured the minor and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her,” the command said in a statement signed by its Public Relatione Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
Acccording to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yola, for discreet investigation and prosecution.
“The CP condemns in strong terms all forms of Gender Based Violence and assures the public that justice will be served,” the command stated.
