Tinubu departs for Saudi Arabia Thursday to perform Umrah

President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Thursday for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah and pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and progress.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the Islamic spiritual exercise.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Tinubu would seek Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.
Before leaving Abuja, Tinubu will commission equipment acquired by the Nigerian Air Force at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
The Presidency said the trip would give the President an opportunity for “spiritual reflection, devotion, and prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability, and continued progress.”
