Tonto Dikeh opens up on past struggle with addiction

Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh has spoken up regarding her past struggles, revealing that she used to battle with drug addiction.

The actress and evangelist, while speaking in a lengthy post, explained that substance abuse became an escape from emotional pain she struggled to express.

Tonto added that although she was publicly seen as chaotic and broken, there was deeper pain behind her actions.

“I was once the chaos people judged. The noise. The mess. The broken decisions. Drugs weren’t the problem, they were the symptom. Addiction wasn’t my identity, it was my escape from pain I didn’t know how to name. So hate the drugs. Hate the addiction. But never stop praying for the person trapped inside it. because that person is not weak, not worthless, not beyond redemption,” she explained.

She urged people not to give into addiction, stating that her life is living proof that a person can rebuild her life.
