A 55-year-old motorist escaped unhurt on Friday after a moving train rammed his Honda car at the PWD railway crossing in Lagos.
The train, which was travelling towards Agege, collided with the vehicle bearing registration number EKY 902 JT, leaving the car extensively damaged.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said its operatives, working with security personnel, rescued the driver from the scene.
LASTMA officials also removed the damaged vehicle from the railway track, allowing the train to continue its journey after the line was cleared.
The incident caused temporary traffic disruption around the PWD railway crossing near Agege Motorway as emergency responders worked at the scene.
The cause of the collision had not been established at the time of filing this report.
Authorities have repeatedly urged motorists to exercise caution at railway crossings and ensure tracks are completely clear before attempting to cross.
