WhatsApp users face shutdown as app drops support for ol

WhatsApp has revealed the Android devices that are still supported by its messaging platform.

The company currently supports Android phones running Android 6.0 and newer versions.

The company said ending support for older Android versions allows it to focus on newer operating systems and provide better security and app performance.

Users whose phones are no longer supported will receive notifications from WhatsApp.

The company said affected users will also receive reminders to upgrade their devices so they can continue using the messaging service.
