Nigeria’s N30tn Livestock economy at risk- Buzaye tells Tinubu

Huseini Buzaye, a public affairs analyst and president of Kautal Pulaaku, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to allow Nigeria's N30 trillion livestock economy to suffer as a result of the ethnic profiling of Fulani pastoralists.
Buzaye made the appeal in a statement on Sunday following a briefing.
He urged the Tinubu administration to immediately put an end to what he described as the dangerous ethnic profiling of Fulani pastoralists.
"Livestock is a N30 trillion economy. It cannot be treated with levity," he said.
According to him, Fulani pastoralists are Nigerians, not bandits.
"We are Nigerians. We are pastoralists. We are not bandits. We love this country. Our cattle feed this nation.
"For too long, the term 'Fulani pastoralist' has been profiled and criminalised as synonymous with banditry, kidnapping and terrorism," he stated.
This comes amid a surge in insecurity in Nigeria.
Recall that farmers and herders recently clashed in Abuja.
DAILY POST reports that there have been recurring clashes between farmers and herders in Plateau, Benue and other parts of Nigeria.
